The Fox Theatres. Built by architect Howard Crane, who had NO FORMAL EDUCATION and used a technique he called “going by instinct”. He supposedly built the Fox Theatres and 250 other theatres. Tell me how does one simply wake up one day with no knowledge of engineering, acoustics and architecture and “just go with the flow” to build these architectural-acoustic and visual masterpieces? They don’t. They tore the Fox in San Francisco down years ago “because it wasn’t making enough money”. You can find the video of it on youtube and watching them wreckingball it made my stomach sink.

The last song played on the San Francisco Fox’s magnificent pipe organ was “take me out to the ball game”. I felt like I was being mocked when I watched him play it. Take me out to the ball game?! Are you serious?! No way was that instrument built to play such a hideous tune. Pure mockery.

One can only imagine the magnificent performances that took place here in the old world. Music and performances so divine, I imagine the entire audience weeping with joy. The St. Louis Fox is now used for drag shows.
